The Valentine’s dinner menu starts with a choice between Foamy Smoked Oyster Soup with a dash of truffle oil or Grilled Green Asparagus & Poached White Asparagus served with truffle-poached egg and hollandaise sauce. One of the best-known aphrodisiac ingredients, oysters are reputed for increasing sexual desire with its high zinc content, which helps increase sex drive. Asparagus, on the other hand, is a great source of Vitamin E, which is involved in stimulating the production of sex hormones in both men and women, therefore also increasing sex drive. Guests can choose between two main course options: Grilled Codfish Fillet and Scallop with Almonds with porcini mushroom risotto, marinated avocado, and roasted baby tomatoes, or the hearty US Prime Black Angus Sirloin Roasted with Three Peppercorns served with rosemary-potato gratin, artichoke, and French beans drizzled with cognac sauce. Hong Kong, 31 July 2014 – It’s no secret that Park Island’s beachside restaurant Cafe Roma occupies one of the best locations along the Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach strip, and this summer the restaurant is offering the best of sea, sun, and sand with its first-ever beach picnic basket to extend the celebration of National Picnic Month until the end of the season. Whether you plan to gather a group of friends and family for a beautiful night under the stars or surprise a date in one of the most idyllic settings on the island to enjoy the romantic sunset, the summer picnic basket is the perfect solution for a relaxed, one-of-a-kind outdoor dining experience with an unobstructed view of the iconic Tsing Ma Bridge.
The picnic basket serves two persons, and includes the signature Cafe Roma Antipasti for two, featuring an assortment of cold starters such as Parma ham, Italian salami, smoked ham, baby mozzarella with cherry tomatoes, marinated artichoke hearts, and grilled pesto zucchini; a choice of salad off the a la carte menu; one regular-sized pizza or pasta of choice off the a la carte menu; a whole French baguette with Camembert cheese; fresh fruit skewers and cookies; and two bottles of still or sparkling water. Vegetarian and special dietary options are available upon special request. Guests can also choose to add any wines or beers from the beverage menu at a 50% discount.
All picnic baskets come with everything needed for a special treat down on the sand, including a custom Cafe Roma beach mat and tea towels for guests to take home as a memento of their summer picnic on the beach. An additional HK$250 deposit will be charged with each picnic basket order, refundable upon return of the wicker picnic basket and silver cutlery to the restaurant.
